Board reviews typically have four key objectives:
- To provide individual directors with the opportunity to provide structured feedback to the chair, their colleagues and to management.
- To provide senior management with an opportunity to provide constructive feedback on their interaction with the board.
- To develop and agree upon a positive action plan to improve the effectiveness of the board and its composition.
- To provide the chair with data upon which to base performance reviews with individual directors and to help develop their effectiveness and contribution to the board.
