Executive Search

Our Process

Executive Search

Executive search is proactive and research-based. It involves firstly having a thorough understanding of the client’s needs and then being able to identify and talk to a range of experts in the field who can give the consultant insight into how potential candidates are viewed by their peers in the sector. This up-front reference checking is the best way of identifying not just ‘possible’ candidates, but candidates who are genuinely a likely match with the client’s specific culture and needs.

At Fish & Nankivell, this research is then made available to the client via our use of the most sophisticated executive search database software in the world, and combined with our judgment to identify people who are a potential match in terms of track record, cultural fit, personal style, and experience in those areas required by the role.

The next stage of the search involves approaching potential candidates and engaging their interest in the role, bringing the best of them to the client for consideration, and finally helping the client, through interviews and further reference checking, to determine exactly the right person for the position. It is a thorough process which ensures that the client’s chances of appointing the very best person for the job are maximised.

Our extensive general management experience enables us to readily understand and quickly develop a rapport with senior executives, assisting us to more effectively represent our clients’ interests and maximise the possibility of attracting high quality individuals to our client organisations. This experience can also be important in representing our clients in sensitive negotiations with potential candidates on remuneration and other important issues.
